One of the most unusual things about shooting news/feature photography is the sheer volume of people who out-and-out refused to be photographed.
Case in point: The tapedeck controls pictured below were attached to a much larger apparatus — something like a boom-box version of Voltron. The inventor of the machine denied all attempts to capture his sound-sculpture for print publication.
The Chicken restaurant is part of the MOCAD’s immediate landscape (along with a drug store and gas station). The glow of the early morning light makes it look like an urban oasis.
