Light experiments with macro shots of barnyard animals…
I created a corrugated cardboard flash grid courtesy of the demo on Strobist.
The grid fits on the front of the flash (with help from a rubber band) and creates a soft spotlight effect. Off-camera flash helps to increase the drama.
Grid assembly and results follow the pig.
The tight lighting created by the grid makes for minimal preparation. I used two sheets of white typing paper and Q-tip box for a reflector. The background is so under-exposed that there’s no need to isolate the toys with an elaborate backdrop.
